If you were me, would you bring this guy up or let him develop some more in minors.

That 25%improvement ratio he has gotten so far is alot better then he will get in the majors this year. So I would say leave him in the minors for the rest of this year.

I would absolutely keep it in the minors for one more season, no doubt about it.

25% increase already, system 3 league. This one is a no brainer-take the advice.

I think a big mistake you made previously was with Merv Covelski in 1968. It had improved 33% in the minors and you decided to move it up. I know it was 22OS but in a system 3 league with variable imporvement you have to tend to ignore the age and look at the increase rate more. Look at this player

I should have brought it up last season but I was playing it as cautious as I could. It still imporved 4 and I doubt it would have improved more 8 in the majors, so it wasn't that big of a risk.

This player, in 1966 I made the mistake of calling it up, and it ran out of options. At a about a 23% clip I called it up, big mistake as you can see it did not improve much in the majors. I though it was the right call b/c it was i think 24 or 25OS but I should have looked the percentage and not the age. Hope this helps.

Thanks. This helps a lot. I didn't really consider the rate before, just the age. I regret very much brining him up earlier this season only to have him get hurt for 1 days. I lost about 8 ICs I think.

Late to the game here, but I'll have to agree. Keep him in the minors for at least this season. Next season I'd keep him in the minors for the first 1-2 months to evaluate. More than likely longer. He'll get more ICs in the minors than in the majors so he'd have to improve significantly better at that level to warrant a promotion.

The only way I'd even bring him up NEXT season is if he's not improving in the minors well or you are looking to make a playoff run and need him in your rotation ASAP.
